Sept 30th - Back from my trip to Greece late last night and catch up on over 150 emails!! Off again today to Hartlepool to help with the last few hours of the by-election campaign and then on to Scarborough tomorrow for the annual National Association of Local Councils conference with Cllr Norman Hogg and Halewood Town Manager John Green. Last year's event was very useful and I am sure we will find this year's just as much as a success, I know we are in line for some awards so check back on Sunday to find out how Halewood Town Council gets on!!

Sept 25th - I have to go away overseas on business today until next Wednesday, I will be able to keep up to speed with events happening at home thanks to the internet and no doubt there will be a pile of emails waiting for me when I get back!

Sept 24th - Followed up a complaint with Leisure Services over plans to stop a six-a-side team from playing football at Huyton leisure centre to allow the facilities to be used instead for combating anti-social behaviour. While I fully support any initiative to provide more access to leisure facilites for young people to keep them off the streets it should not be at the expense of regular and loyal users who are told they cannot use the centre any more. I am confident common sense will prevail!!

Sept 23rd - After a busy week in Bournemouth at the Party Conference I returned on Thursday to go to a Halewood Town Council meeting. A very positive meeting where we ratified some of the proposals discussed at the recent away day. Also returned from conference to some new casework to resolve, never a dull moment!

Sept 10th - back to Liverpool Town Hall this morning with my colleague Cllr Ian Smith to present supporting evidene to the public inquiry in relation to Knowsley. We have also been finalising our submission to the Party for the Penhaligon Award, an annual award to the local party who has done the most to improve and retain new members, our local membership has risen by almost 100 per cent in the last 18 months.

Sept 9th - Spent the morning in the office dealing with client work and keeping the business on track then headed off to Liverpool Town Hall for the Boundary enquiry, the North West Lib Dems are presenting their objections and proposals today and I have been working closely with David Mawdsley from Crosby to prepare our case. Should be fun!!

Sept 8th - Back to the Town Hall in Liverpool this morning to hear the Tories open their case to the Boundary Commission, they will be argueing that Halewood is linked with Garston to create a new MP's seat, interesting thought!!

This afternoon I will be at the Philarmonic Hall for the Education Department's Celebration of Achievement, a great event that rightly celebrates all the good things our schools, teachers and not least pupils are doing in Knowsley and then I will have to dash back to Halewood for a District Youth Management Committee meeting. I will be ready for bed after all that!

Sept 7th - A busy day today starting with an away day for Halewood Town Council to informally discuss future policy and ideas to improve services and facilities for the community. This evening is the second Halewood Area Forum of the year and then we have a local party meeting, should be home by 10.30pm!!

Sept 6th - After a break for the summer the diary is back and I intend to make more of an effort to maintain it daily!! Finding the time is difficult and hopefully highlights how busy I am!!

On Monday I attended the start of the Public Enquiry being held by the Boundary Commission for England (BCE) into the review of parliamentary boundaries for Merseyside. The Labour Party opened the enquiry by presenting their alternative proposals to the initial recommendations by the BCE. I am there in my role as Chair of the North West region and we will be presenting our case on Thursday and Friday.
