July 5th - Attended a Schools Performance Monitoring Group meeting at KMBC's education offices today. The group looks at how schools with challenging circumstances are tackling their problems and how the LEA's School Improvment Officers are helping them. A lot of the detail is confidential and cannot be discussed outside of the meeting - and although I understand the reason for this I am not totally comfortable with it as I believe in open and transparent public services - but it is reassuring to know that support is available to tackle problems when they occur and to ensure schools do not loose their focus on delivering education services for our communities.
