July 6th - I will be attending a Governors meeting at New Hutte Primary School later today. One of the issues concerning us at the moment is the uncertainty of the schools future but it will now be September at the earliest before we hear any more from the lEA.
I have spoken to both the Director of Education and Cabinet Mmeber for Education about this in recent days because the delays in making firm decisions is not helping some schools like New Hutte where parents are choosing to taske their children to other schools - often outside the Borough - before we know the final proposals for the future of the primary sector in Knowsley. The Governors have presented a strong case for New Hutte's future and we need the LEA to discourage people from moving their children until we know the final outcome.
