Busy week

Thursday 14th July 2005 - It has been busy week so far, as well as helping out in Cheadle where I could we had a Council meeting last night where we supported the oppositoin to the Boundary Commission's proposals to carve up Knowsley's Parliamentary seats and gave our backing in principal to supporting the Merseytram project.

However, despite all political parties across Merseyside working together to support the Merseytram scheme I fear the Government are not as committed to it and will eventually scupper the plans.

Comments:
I run a website dedicated to Parliamentary by-elections. It aims to make election leaflets available for students of politics.

Having seen your blog I was wondering if you might be able to help us get hold of some leaflets from Cheadle?

We would be happy to send you a s.a.e. to cover postage. You will find contact details at http://www.geocities.com/by_elections/links

or you could post them to us at:
LEAFLETS 2005, PO BOX 4312, WOLVERHAMPTON, WV11 3WZ

Again we would be happy to pay the postage and we would be happy to return any items if you want them back.

You can also follow the by-election on our blog site http://by_elections.blogspot.com/

Any scans could be sent by e-mail (see contact details at the above link)

Please help if you have any leaflets - this archive is very important to students and we do need help to make leaflets available.

We have a great record of by-election coverage over the last few years
see: http://www.geocities.com/by_elections/2001.html

We wound not like Cheadle to spoil our record, and from what you have said about the campaign it is important to make the evidence available for study.
